Hits instead of laser lines in 3D

In the 3D view, gunfights now read like a real match: you see where bullets land, not a web of lines.

A bot in the 3D view takes a hit: a small grey puff flies off behind him along the shot

What changed

In the SHOW presentation (it is on by default), the 3D view no longer draws a line for every shot. Instead:

  • a short bullet trace flashes only now and then: the first bullet of a burst and every fifth one after it;
  • a hit leaves a small grey puff behind the target, flying off in the direction of the shot;
  • a headshot adds a ring and a few sparks around the head;
  • a miss kicks up dust where the bullet meets a wall, a crate or the floor;
  • a bot flinches when hit, and when he goes down he falls the way the shot pushed him.

The picture stays calm in a long spray, and you can still tell who is hitting whom.

Prefer the old lines?

Open the player settings and switch Presentation to TACTICAL: it keeps the shot paths as before, which is handy for reading angles.

Where to try it

Open any live match from the lobby and switch the map to 3D.
